I’m grieving a death

Please accept our condolences for your loss. When you lose a loved one, you have plenty of support and resources to access for assistance.

If you are the dependent and/or beneficiary of a deceased Intuit employee, please immediately call My Benefits at 800-381-8881.

Medical, dental, vision, and mental health and wellbeing

If you are the dependent and/or beneficiary of a deceased Intuit employee:

  • As a surviving dependent of an employee who passes and, if you are currently covered under the employee’s medical, dental, vision and mental health and wellbeing benefits, you are eligible for up to 36 months of continued coverage under COBRA. My Benefits will send you a COBRA notification package within 14 days of the notification of the employee’s death.
  • If you elect, Intuit will cover the first 12 months of your COBRA coverage at no cost to you.
  • Once the 12-month period ends, you will be billed for your coverage at the current COBRA rates in place.
  • You may qualify for lower costs on health coverage by buying through the health insurance marketplace.

If you are an Intuit employee and your dependent and/or beneficiary has died:

Flexible Spending Accounts

If you are the dependent and/or beneficiary of a deceased Intuit employee:

You can submit claims for expenses incurred prior to your loved one’s death.

If you are an Intuit employee, and your dependent and/or beneficiary has died:

You can stop participating.

Savings and retirement

If you are the dependent and/or beneficiary of a deceased Intuit employee:

  • You may be entitled to your loved one’s account balance.
  • If the Intuit employee had equity holdings (ESPP shares, stock options, or RSUs), you will receive a closing stock statement from Intuit’s stock plan administrator detailing the holdings and steps to take to ensure these assets are transferred appropriately.
